The Black Diamond Historical Society holds an annual all-membership meeting that is also open to the general public. Community participation is widely encouraged.
This year’s meeting is Sunday, October 22nd starting at 1 pm in the museum. A short business session shares our accomplishments for the year, makes announcements and presents our annual Strategic Plan and Goals to the members for approval.
The meeting typically includes a short business agenda that shares our strategic plan, accomplishments and new goals. It also includes a historic presentation. This year the presentation will be “The Black Diamond Railroads” by Keith Watson. Keith is well known for his passion of railroad history. Come join us at 1 pm for a great time. The program will be followed by a social time to get to know each other, along with treats and refreshments.
Membership Matters
Because we are a non-profit organization and never charge a fee for admission to the museum or our events, membership and donations are a key to our survival. With your membership you will receive our newsletter published three times a year. The newsletter is very popular and widely known for its historic contents. For those who have a bit of spare time on your hands, we welcome volunteers to become a member of our “family.” Whether you can offer time on our Thursday volunteer work day or be a greeter on a Saturday or Sunday for a few hours, you can really make a difference, learn a lot about our history, meet other community members and truly enjoy a good time. We also have junior volunteers!
